Sunderland Renaissance is a campaign dedicated to promoting and participating in a revival of the city of Sunderland. Owing to economic woes, for decades wearside has been held back by a culture of cynicism and pessimism which has clouded the area's magnificent history, heritage and natural beauty. Our goal however, is to encourage people to have faith and pride in their city again by working with local groups, organisations and businesses to promote a common cause.
In order to achieve this, we run a vibrant social media campaign which works to portray the city, its history and its developments in a positive light. In addition, we will also be seeking to propose and promote projects of our own to better the area. On this note, it is important to recognize that SR is not a political organisation. As specified in the sidebar, we do not endorse any party label, candidate, we play no role in local elections and nor do we seek funding from taxpayers or governmental organisations.
We are always seeking to partner with local businesses and organisations. SR strives to do all it can to encourage people to support local businesses, to help develop local brands and help encourage visitors and interest to the city's attractions. To become a part of the Sunderland Renaissance is to wrap yourself in the heritage, passion and future of the area. We'd love to hearfrom you!
